Florida’s Toll Relief Program Delivers Significant Savings in First Six Months, Customer Credits Total over $247 Million

Florida’s Toll Relief Program, a key initiative aimed at providing financial relief to Florida’s commuters, continues to deliver substantial savings in its first six months of operation. Since this year’s program inception, which began in April, nearly $247 million in Toll Relief credits have been issued, benefiting 1.2 million customers monthly.

The Toll Relief Program was designed to reduce toll expenses for the state’s frequent travelers, helping to alleviate the cost of commuting and support the economic well-being of Florida’s residents.

“Florida commuters have saved nearly one-quarter of a billion dollars thanks to Governor Ron DeSantis’ Toll Relief Program,” said FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. “Florida families and small businesses are seeing extra savings at the end of each month, and we look forward to continue the savings through next year.”

The program automatically gives SunPass customers with at least 35 monthly toll transactions a 50 percent credit to their account and runs from April 2024 through March 2025. SunPass customers already save an average of 25% on tolls, the Toll Relief Program provides drivers with another way to save.

Following the success of the SunPass Savings program in 2022, Governor DeSantis committed to providing financial relief for Florida’s families by establishing a one-year toll relief program. The 2023 Toll Relief Program credited customers approximately $470 million, benefiting 1.2 million Floridians with an average savings of nearly $400 each. Earlier this year, Governor DeSantis and the Florida Legislature extended the program, reaffirming their commitment to serving Floridians.

The Toll Relief Program is administered by Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise and includes SunPass as well as other Florida-based tolling agency partners throughout the state. Customers are encouraged to ensure their transponder is properly mounted in the vehicle and their account is in good standing to participate in the program.

SunPass is the Prepaid Electronic Toll Collection Program operated by the Enterprise, the toll agency for the state. To learn more about SunPass, please visit SunPass.com or call 1-888-TOLL-FLA (1-888-865-5352).
